Shaping the Future

The Alfred Stewart Trust (AST) is embarking on an exciting new phase, laying the foundations to make a meaningful difference in Dunfermline and West Fife. As the Trust prepares to open for grant applications towards the end of 2025, every step being taken now ensures future funding is impactful and aligned with the region’s needs.

Committed to listening, learning, and acting compassionately, AST is working closely with local communities and organisations to uncover the challenges and priorities that matter most.

Listening, Learning, and Acting

At the heart of AST’s work is a commitment to gathering powerful insights directly from the community. The recent community survey engaged hundreds of residents to explore the most pressing local issues and funding priorities. These responses are now being analysed to build a clear picture of what’s needed.

Following this, we will host focus groups, designed to build on what we’ve already learned. By digging deeper into key themes, these sessions will uncover nuanced perspectives and ensure the Trust’s future efforts have a lasting positive impact.

The next step is an open day where residents are invited to hear initial findings, share feedback, and help shape the next phase of AST’s strategy. The date of this event will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, stakeholder surveys are ongoing, focusing on engaging local organisations to identify partnership opportunities and uncover gaps where AST’s support can make a real difference.

A Future Built Together

This groundwork is about more than making informed decisions—it’s about building the kind of trust and partnerships that create change for generations to come. By working together with the people of Dunfermline and West Fife, AST is ensuring its upcoming funding strategy reflects the needs of the community it serves.
